How to write captions that actually drive sales

The three-part caption formula

Part 2: The body

The body of your caption should do one job: build enough interest or trust that the reader wants to take action. This is where you tell a story, share a specific result, address an objection, or explain why your product is different.

Keep it conversational. Write like you're texting a friend, not drafting a press release. Short sentences. Real language. No corporate speak.

Specificity builds trust. "Our customers save an average of 3.2 hours per week" converts better than "our customers save time." Numbers feel real. Vague claims feel like marketing.

Part 3: The CTA

The biggest mistake in social media CTAs is being too pushy. "BUY NOW!!!" and "CLICK THE LINK IN BIO IMMEDIATELY" feel desperate and actually reduce conversion rates.

The best CTAs feel like a natural next step rather than a sales pitch. They often take the form of a question that invites engagement, or a soft invitation rather than a hard sell.
