Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: September 26, 2026
This page explains how to delete the data SocialStack LLC ("SocialStack," "we," or "us") holds about you, including data we received from Facebook and Instagram when you connected your account with Facebook Login for Business. For full details on what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.
1. How to Request Deletion
Use either option below. You do not need to do both.
- Disconnect in the SocialStack portal. Log in at trysocialstack.com/portal.html, open Settings → Instagram connection, and click Disconnect. SocialStack immediately stops publishing to, replying on, and reading from that Instagram account, and we delete that account's data as described in Section 2.
- Email us. Send an email to hunter@trysocialstack.com from the email address on your SocialStack account, with the subject "Data deletion request." Tell us whether you want your entire SocialStack account deleted or only one connected account (include its Instagram username).
Not a SocialStack client? If you commented on or sent a message to an Instagram account that SocialStack manages and want your data deleted, email hunter@trysocialstack.com with the subject "Data deletion request" and include your Instagram username.
We may ask you to confirm that you own the account before we delete anything. We confirm by email when deletion is complete.
2. What We Delete, and When
Within 30 days of your request, or of disconnecting in the portal, we permanently delete the following for the affected Instagram account:
- Facebook Page and Instagram access tokens
- Account information: Page and Instagram IDs, Page name, username, profile picture, follower and media counts, and your list of posts
- Comments, Direct messages, and reply history we stored from your account
- Performance insights for your account and posts
If you ask us to delete your entire SocialStack account, we also delete, within the same 30 days, your SocialStack login, profile, and settings; the videos, captions, and schedules stored for you; and any TikTok or YouTube connection data.
3. What We Keep
- Billing records: invoices and payment history processed by Stripe, which we keep for as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. We never store your full card number.
- A record of your request: your deletion request and our confirmation, so we can show that it was completed.
- Legal obligations: information we are required by law to keep, or need in order to resolve a dispute or enforce our agreements.
- Aggregated statistics that do not identify you or your accounts.
Reels, comment replies, and messages already published on Instagram (or on TikTok or YouTube) stay on those platforms. Deleting your SocialStack data does not remove them; you can delete them directly in the Instagram app.
4. Remove SocialStack's Access in Facebook and Instagram
You can also revoke SocialStack's access from Meta's own settings at any time (menu names can vary slightly between app versions):
- Facebook: Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations → select SocialStack → Remove.
- Meta business portfolio: if your Page belongs to a business portfolio, an admin can also remove SocialStack in Business settings → Integrations → Connected apps.
- Instagram messages: in the Instagram app, go to Settings and activity → Messages and story replies → Message controls → Connected tools, and turn off Allow access to messages.
- Instagram apps and websites: if SocialStack is listed in the Instagram app under Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites, remove it there too.
Removing access in Facebook or Instagram stops SocialStack from reaching your account right away, but it does not delete data we have already stored. To have that data deleted, also use one of the options in Section 1.
